Falmouth Police are investigating a hit and run accident which sent two people to Falmouth Hospital with unknown injuries early Thursday (02-04-10) morning around 1:00 AM. According to Falmouth Police Sgt. Scott Hartzler at the accident scene, one vehicle crashed into a pole snapping it in half and leaving downed utility lines across Sandwich Road. The occupants of the vehicle got out of their vehicle when an oncoming vehicle came along and struck the downed utility lines which entangled and struck the occupants of the original motor vehicle accident. The hit and run vehicle is described by Falmouth Police as a dark colored Jeep Liberty with front-end damage. Police recovered a headlight from the hit and run vehicle at the accident scene. The section of road where the accident took place has been shut down for over 2 hours as Police reconstruct the scene and utility crews make repairs to the down lines and pole.
